The Great Split & The Great Reunification

Introduction

Greetings in the name of Yeshua (Jesus) our savior! Today I’m examining a grand progression in history, starting with identifying who the ‘forever’ people of God are, later to look at what Law governs this people. We’ll also see how after the Jesus-believing Jews were rejected by the rest of the Jews, how the authentic Jewish Jesus was hijacked by the gentiles to create a religion a bit estranged from the heritage of the people of God - the Split. And lastly, how Jews and Gentiles are reunifying again, aligning with the foundation of the Torah and identifying with Israel, the forever people of God. I hope you enjoy and are blessed!

1. The original 'church' (ekklesia) - assembly of called out ones - Israel gathered at Mount Sinai - Acts 7:38 uses Ekklesia here, translated as church!

2. Israel will not pass away as long as the sun and moon and stars are here! -- Jeremiah 31:35-37 -- “Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; the LORD of hosts is His name: “If this fixed order departs from before Me,” declares the LORD, “Then the offspring of Israel also will cease from being a nation before Me forever.” Thus says the LORD, “If the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth searched out below, then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done,” declares the LORD.

3. Yeshua arrives - He came to divide, He stood for righteousness

Many Jews believed in Him, Many did not, perhaps partly because of not understanding how He could be One with the Father, and partly because of Yeshua’s rebukes of the religious Jews’ hypocrisy.

Eventually, the Messianic Jews believing in the Messiah Yeshua were rejected from the synagogue, the place of worship of the one true God. Thus the GREAT SPLIT began, which ideally should have never happened.

The Messianic Jews met elsewhere - in homes, etc…

Eventually, Gentiles began taking over the Messianic community, Probably moreso when the temple was destroyed in 70 AD and the Jewish center of worship was uprooted.

I think because the Jews had rejected the Messianic Jews, eventually the Gentile-dominated “church” began hating and despising JEWISH ways - saying it was BAD to observe the Law, etc - bad to circumcise sons, eat pure, rest on sabbath, etc..

4. Also, enter Constantine… Making ‘Christianity’ official, while retaining pagan ways - worship on Sunday..

5. After this, the catholic church declared at Council of Laodicea the following:

“Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday (Sabbath), but shall work on that Day: but the Lord’s Day, they shall especially honour; and as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out from Christ”

6. Combined with a mistreatment of Paul’s letters, you have the perfect storm: ‘the Law is a curse! We’re not under the curse of the law!’ Yet.. The curse was always if you BROKE the law. How could that now be reversed? Cursed if you keep God’s righteous commandments? Messiah did take the curse of the law - death - the penalty for not keeping the law, and thus we are free from that as we are justified by faith. Yet by faith we do not abolish the law, we ESTABLISH it, as the very same Apostle Paul declared in Romans 3:31! Also see Romans 7:7 where Paul says the Law defines sin. If it defines sin, why would we now be able to break the law and sin!

7. Thus, the “Christian Church” split physically and doctrinally with the ancient faith, instead having new doctrines, estranged from the Jewish root. So instead of the gentiles being grafted into a Jewish Olive tree as Romans 11 says, the Jews were expected to give up their Torah-observant Judaism and convert to 'Christianity'.

THE REUNIFICATION

8. But these days, a new thing is happening. Christians are waking up to identifying as part of the Israel that was never terminated! Along with that, comes the ways of the Kingdom of Israel - the Torah given to Moses given to Israel.

9. And contrary to perhaps popular belief, the God-man Yeshua (Jesus) did not abolish the Law. He said so in Matthew 5:17-19, saying he came to fulfill it instead. But lest we say that means abolish too, He also said til heavens and Earth pass away not one little bit of the Law would pass and that those who keep and teach these commandments would be honored in His kingdom.

10. And thus we see that Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi to the core, also telling a man to keep the commandments (Torah) to enter into life. And thus there should not be any contradiction between Israel and those who follow Yeshua. Yeshua, the King of Israel rules over Israel, Jews and Gentiles grafted in.

11. And thus, ALSO, many Jews are waking up to this reality and embracing Yeshua as the Messiah - the chosen one to bring ultimate redemption! They see the prophecies fulfilled as well - notably Isaiah 53, outlining this suffering servant to be the sacrifice for sin, which was exactly what Yeshua did!

12. And so the breach that happened with the Christian Church emerging separate from Israel, despising Jews and the Torah, is being healed as people are seeing that Israel is still the people of God and Gentiles are grafted into this Nation, and the Laws of Israel still apply.

13. Thus, We pray that more of the natural sons of Israel will see their righteous Jewish King Yeshua, upholding their precious Torah, and be regrafted into the Israel of God again, and that more Christians will reconnect with their rich Jewish heritage and not be arrogant against the natural branches of the tree (the Jews).

14. And of course, we await Yeshua to come again and reign over His people Israel and exterminate evil from the world.
